COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Many persons function in a security-related environment at various levels and do not necessarily understand fully what security encompasses. Many view security as only concerning security guards. However, it this is a massive misconception. Security is includes law enforcement and defence as well - they provide public security and safety. Many persons in a security environment usually do what they are told or what others have being doing without seeing the whole picture or connecting the dots. Having an overarching view of the security function is critical to better performance by all employees and improved appreciation of what and why they engage in.

This interactive course should be a compulsory orientation element to all persons entering this massive industry and to those already in it who needs a refocusing of their efforts. Such persons include security personnel themselves at the basic and supervisory levels, but also, administrative staff without a security background that are responsible for critical decisions and even operations.

This training course deals with all of the key elements of security that all persons in this industry should be knowledgeable of. It covers among other things:

  • Development of Security Industry
  • Nature and Objectives of Security
  • Who and what are to be secured
  • Public, private and public/private security
  • Types of security
  • Careers in Security
  • Responsibilities of Security Officer
  • Responsibilities of Security Supervisors
  • Responsibilities of Administrative Staff
  • Technological Aspects of Security
  • Future of Security

At the end of the course, all participants would possess an adequate basic knowledge of the fundamentals of security and would be in a better possession to perform more responsibly at their various levels.
