Sales and Marketing Officer

Job purpose:

The incumbent develops and delivers on the Institute’s Sales and Marketing initiatives to meet targets. He/she is responsible for developing and implementing the various marketing initiatives including use of social media, as well as, for generating lead/prospect lists; converting leads/prospects in sales; continuously builds stakeholder relationships; provides after sales service and generate referrals for new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Sales & Marketing action plans in order to meet and exceed pre-determined targets and KPIs
  • Develop new relationships as well as sustain relationships with existing stakeholders through calls, emails, telephone contacts and field visits.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate databases of clients, etc.
  • Prepares invoices, quotations and training proposals for prospective and existing stakeholders.
  • Conducts relevant and ongoing market research to identify threats to, and opportunities for market penetration.
  • Prepares training packages for solicitation of in-house training opportunities.
  • Contributes to ongoing public education activities via newsletters, newspaper column, media interviews, press releases, advertisements, blogs, website and/or flyers.
  • Ensures that the website and various social media content are current & relevant.
  • Responsible for the preparation of certificates of participation after completion of training sessions.
  • Provides support to part-time lecturers to ensure that classes proceed as scheduled.
  • Produce necessary reports on job activities, etc.
  • Obtain feedback from clients on training completed.
  • Assists with the preparation and delivery of Tender documents and /or pre-qualification documents, as well as payment of any related fees.  
  • Performs related duties as may be required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Experience in sales techniques and strategies, prospecting, lead generation, sales pitching, objection handling, closing deals, and customer retention.
  • Experience in marketing channels and tactics, including email marketing, paid digital and social media campaigns, content marketing, and events.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Must be able to use typical tools and software used in this field such as CRMs, Meta, Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Google Analytics, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Zoom etc. or tech savvy to learn the tools required in this field
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, associates and representatives of Business Associates;
  • Trustworthiness and high sense of responsibility;
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral;
  • Sound planning and organizational skills;
  • Customer-focused in delivery of services;
  • Team Player and works well with others.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Business, or a related field
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in sales and marketing, preferably in the education industry or B2B sales.
